1. 알리바이 - an alibi. * 법률용어로는 현장부재증명(現場不在證明). Ex. 알리바이를 세우다: frame(fix) an alibi; set up(prove_ an alibi. / 알리바이를 조작하다 fake the alibi.
2. 아시아 개발은행 - Aisan Development Bank(ADB). Ex. 아시아 개발은행이 1966년 11월 24일 정식으로 발족되었다: The Aisan Development Bank was formally inaugurated in November 24, 1966.
3. 아시아 생산성 기구 - Asian Productivity Organization(APO). Ex. 아시아 생산성기구 이사회는 12개국 대표 70여명이 참석한 가운데 4일간 개최되었다: The four-day meeting of the governing body of Asian Productivity Organization was attended by about 70 delegates from 12 countries.
4. 아시아·태평양 지역국가 민속예술제 - the Asian and Pacific Nations Folk Arts Festival. Ex. 내일부터 국립극장에서 열리게 될 아시아·태평양 지역국가 민속예술제에 참가할 10개국의 연기자들이 오늘 서울에 도착할 것이다: Performing artists from 10 countries will arrive in Seoul today to participate in th Asian and Pacific Nations Folks Festival to be held at the National Theater from tomorrow.
5. 안락사 - mercy killing; mercy slaying. Ex. 그는 안락사도 죄악이냐고 물었다: He asked if mercy killing is a sin.
6. 안보 -  national security. [안보외교]  diplomacy for national security. [안보의식] sense of national security. Ex. 이럼에도 불구하고 사람들 중에는 그들의 안보의식을 의심치 않을 수 없게 하는 발언을 하는 사람들이 있다: In spite of this, people make remarks which make us suspect their lack of sense of national security.
7. 안정기금 - safety fund. Ex. 농가안정자금 farming safety fund. / 6억원 예산의 농촌안정기금설치 establishment of a farming safety fund with a budget of 600 million won. / 농산물 안정기금으로 50 억원을 투자하다: to invest 5 billion won for stabilization of farm products.
8. 야당 연합전선 - a united front of opposition parties. cf. [야당통합]  merger of the opposition parties.
9. 야외 음악당 - an open-air(outdoor) concert hall or musical hall.
10. 약식재판 - summary trial; summary proceedings. Ex. 약식재판에 회부하다: refer (a person) to a summary trial (on charge of ~).
11. 양곡거래소 - the Grain Exchange Center. cf. 농림부는 양곡거랫 설치를 고려중에 있다: The Ministry of Agriculture considering the establishment of the Grain Exchange Center.
12. 양곡수급계획 - plan for demand and supply of grain.
13. 양두구육 - [양두구육의 속임수를 쓰다] cry up wine and sell vinegar; sell dog meat while hanging up a sheep's head. Ex. 그러나 그러한 양두구육의 술책이 아무도 속이지는 못할 것이다: But the trick of selling dog meat while hanging up the sign of a head will fool nobody.
14. 양수기 - a power pump; a water pump. [양수장치] pumping equipment. Ex. 한발에 시달된 농민에게 보낼 양수기구 기본금을 모집하는 운동이 수도 서울과 그밖의 도시에서 전개되었다:  A fund-raising campaign for power pumps to drought stricken farmers was launched in Seoul, the nation's capital, and other cities.
15. 어로보호본부 - fishing protection headquarters.
16. 어린이 -  [어린이 대공원] the Grand Children's Park. [어린이 회관] the Children's Hall; the Children's Center.
17. 언론법 - press law. [언론법안] Press Ethics Commission Law. Ex. 그 언론법안은 정치계 및 언론계로부터 비난이 높아지자 사실상 철회되었다: The press bill was virtually withdrawn in the face of mounting criticitism from political and press circles.
