ㅂ - A

 

1. 반공교육 -  anti-Communist education; anti-Red education.
2. 반사회 기업인 - anti-social businessman. Ex. 반사회 기업인을 횡령혐의로 검거하다:  round up anti-social businessmen on charges of embezzlement.
3. 방사선 학군 - a (radial) school district(zone). cf. 공동학군 a common school district. Ex. 서울 지역을 4개의 방사선 한군과 1개의 공동학군으로 구분하다: partition the Seoul area into foru school districts plus a common school district.
4. 방수대책 - flood prevention measures.
5. 방위산업 - the defense industry; the war industry(군수산업); the munitions industry.
6. 방위세 - the Defense Tax. Ex. 신설된 방위세법안이 어제 국회를 통과함으로써 올해부터 납세자들의 어깨에 또다른 세부담이 가중됐다: Extra heavier burdens from this year on will fall on the shoulders of tax-payers as the new defense tax bill has passed the National Assembly.
7. 방조 - (범죄의 방조) aiding and abetting. [방조자] an abetter. Ex. 박 대통령은 일본관헌이 대한해협의 일본섬인 대마도를 근거지로 하는 대한밀수 활동을 방조 묵인하고 있다는데 대해 일본 정부에 항의하도록 내각에 지시했다: Presiden Park instructed the Adminstration to lodge a protest with the Japanese government official aiding and abetting and connivance at the Kora-directed smuggling activities based on Tsushima, a Japanese island in Korea Strait.
8. 방증 - circumstantial evidence. Ex. 경찰에서는 투석사건의 용의자로 백을 체포하고 방증수집에 착수했다: The police started collecting circumstantial evidence after arresting Paik as a criminal suspect in the stone throwing case.
9. 방화시설 - fire prevention facility. Ex. 서울에 있는 대부분의 고층 빌딩 소유주들이 건물에 적절한 소화 혹은 방화 시설을 설비하도록 한 의무를 이행치 않고 있음이 경찰 조사에서 드러났다: A police survey has revealed that most owners of tall buildings in Seoul failed to live up to their obligations to equip their buildings with adequate fire-fighting or fire prevention facilities.
10. 백년대계 - a far-sighted policy(program). Ex. 한국은 백년대계를 그르치지 않도록 한일회담에 신중을 기해야 한다: Korea must deal carefully with the nomalization talks between Korea and Japan lest her far-sighted policies should be ruined.
11. 백지화 - nullification; annulment. [백지화하다]는 clean the state 라고도 한다. Ex. 통합대회는 지금까지 합의를 본 한일간의 제협정을 백지화하라고 요구하는 결의안을 채택했다: The merger meeting adopted a resolution demanding nullification of the recent agreements with Japan on major issues in the Korea-Japan nomalization of diplomatic relation negotiations.
12. 범인 신병 인도 협정 - an extradition treaty. Ex. ~와 범인 신병인도협정을 체결하다: conclude(sign) an extradition treaty with ~.
13. 법망 - the net of the grip(meshes) of the law. [법망에 걸리다] fall into the meshes of the law, evade(elude) the law. Ex. 그 판결은 누구든지 돈만 있으면 법망을 빠져나갈 수 있었던 지난 날을 생각케 한다: The court sentence reminds us of the past days when any one could slip from the grip of the law if only he had money.
14. 범국민 저축 운동 - pannational saving dirve. Ex. 남 장관은 어제 모든 국민이 범국민 저축운동에 적극 참여해야 한다고 강조했다: Minister Nam stressed yesterday that all the people should join a pannational saving drive.  
15. 범태평양 동남 아시아 여성협회 -  the Pan-Pacific and South-East Asia Women's Association. Ex. 각종 여성단체의 대표 500여명이 참석한 가운데 제 13차 범태평양 동남아시아 여성협회의 총회가 어제 서울에서 열렸다: Around 500 representatives of various women's organizations gathered for the 13th conference of the Pan-Pacific and South-East Asia Women's Association in Seoul yesterday.
16. 법원 브로커 - a court broker. Ex. 서울지검은 10명의 법원 브로커를 검거했는데 알려진 바에 따르면 그들은 형사피의자 가족들에게 사건해결을 해준다는 명목으로 금품을 사취했다는 것이다: The Seoul District Prosecution has arrested 10 "court brokers' who allegedly extorted money from the families of criminal defendents in return for mediating solution of their cases.
17. 법정기일 - legal deadline. Ex. 국회는 예산안을 법정기일내에 통과시키지 못했다: The National Assembly has failed to meet the legal deadine of defaming the law-governed society.
18. 변동환율제 - floating exchange rate system. Ex. 고정환율제를 변동환률제로 바꾸다: shift (its) fixed exchange rate system to the floating exchange rate system.
19. 변호사 협회 - The Bar Association. Ex. 제일변호사협회는 헌법안의 헌법재판소 구성에 반대한다고 말했다: The First Bar Assoication voiced that it opposes formation of the constitutional court proposed in the darft Contititution.
20. 병보석 - sick bail. Ex. 병보석으로 석방되다: to be released on a sick bail.
