39.  한국일보에 따르면 부산에 큰 화재가 있었다고 한다. // According to the Hankook Ilbo there was a big fire in Pusan.

 

40. 그는 사임하게 되리라고 한다. // It is said that he is going to resign his post.

 

41. 새 선생님이 부임하신다고 한다. // We are (I am) told (that) a new teacher is coming.

 

42. 그는 대학을 졸업하면 출판계에 투신할 작정이라고 한다. // I hear (that) he is planning to go into publishing after college.

 

주) according to 는 <공문서> <신문기사> 따위에 쓰이는 격식을 차린 표현. It is said that 는 각 인칭에 쓰이며 that은 생략할 수 있다. We are told (that), I hear that 따위는 구어체의 표현이다. 이 밖에도 다음과 같은 표현이 있다.
