건강한 사람들은 흔히 자기의 건강을 경시하기 쉽다. (조흥은행, 74)

건강한 사람들 : healthy people, the healthy, men of (sound) health, those who enjoy good health, those who are blessed with good health.

 

경시하다 : make(think) light of, think lightly of, treat lightly, attach no importance to, give little attention to. <무시한다고 생각해서> ; neglect, ignore.

 

~ 하기 쉽다 : <걸핏하면 ~ 하다, 흔히 ~ 하다> be apt to (do), be inclined to (do), Ex. <젊은이들은 적극적으로 흐르기 쉽다> Young people are apt to go to extremes. / <그런 일은 게을리 하기가 쉽다> one is apt to be negligent in such matters. 이밖에도 <습성의 will>를 써서 하든가 부사 often 을 써서 가볍게 나타낼 수도 있다. Ex. <인간은 잘못을 저지르기 쉽다> Man will make mistakes. / He often says such a thing. 또는 유사표현으로 be liable to + 부정사 또는 명사 및 be prone to + 부정사 또는 명사, 따위가 있다. Ex. <젊은이들은 경솔한 행동을 하기가 쉽다> Young people are prone to act rashly(rash act).

1. <사람>을 주어로 한다.

 

2. <건강>를 주어로 하여 Health is often made light of ~ 식의 구문을 만들 수 있다. 능동태로 하려면 be subject to + 명사 를 써 Health is subject to neglience ~ 처럼 구성해 보는 것도 가능하다.
