1. 병역기피 - draft evasion. Ex. 서울시 경찰당국은 59여명을 병역기피 혐의로 군법회의에 회부했다: Metropolitan police referred more than 50 persons to a courtmartial on the chargef of draft evasion.
2. 보선(보궐선거) - a byelection. (미) a special election. cf. 총선거 a general election. 중간선거 an off-year election. a midterm election(대통령 선거가 없는 해의 선거를 뜻함). Ex. 국회의원 보궐선거(run in) the parliamentary by-election.
3. 부가 가치세 - value-added tax. Ex. 경제기획원이 마련한 제 4차 경제개발 5개년계획(1977~81) 지침에 따르면 정부는 1977년부터 부가가치세 제도를 신설할 것이라고 한다: According to a guideline fo the fourth five-year economic development plan(1977~81) prepared by the Economic Planning Board, the government will establish a value-added tax system from 1977 onward.
4. 부동산 양도법 - real estate sale law. Ex. 정부는 부동산 양도법의 초안을 마련했다: The government drafted a law bill governing real property(estate) sale.
5. 부동산 양도세 - real estate sale(transfer) tax.
6. 부실학교 - sub-standard school. Ex. 부실학교를 폐쇄하다: close substandard schools.
7. 부재지주 - absentee; absentee landlord. Ex. 농지소유상한제를 폐지하면 부재지주가 재등장할 가능성이 있다: It government remove the limit of acres of farmland ownership, absentee landlords might reappear.
8. 분계선 - demarcation line. [군사분계선] the military demarcation line. (* 비무장지대<Demilitarized Zone> 남쪽 한계를 남방한계선<South demarcation line>, 북쪽 한계를 북방한계선<North demarcation line>이라고 함. Ex. 피납된 2척의 어선은 남방한계선 남쪽 2마일 수역에서 어로작업중이다? The two hijacked boats were engaged in fishing on the sea within two miles from of the south demarcation line.
9. 불량상품 고발센터 - Poor Quality Goods Complaint Center. Ex. 불량상품 고발센터의 설립으로 소비자들의 불량품구축운동(不良品 驅逐運動)이 강화될 것이다: The establishment of the Poor Quality Goods Complaint Center will strengthen the consumers' crusade against poor quality.
10. 불량식품 - illegal food stuffs; unsanitary food stuff; substandard food.
11. 불법소지 - illegal possession. [무기 불법소지] illegal possession of weapon. Ex. 그는 방화 공모 및 무기 불법소지로 고소되었다: He is charged with conspiracy to commit arson and illegal possession of weapon.
12. 불신임안 - the non-confidence motion. Ex. 정부 불신임안을 가결하다: pass a vote of non-confidence in the Government. 불신임안이 90대 60으로 가결되었다: The non-confidence motion was passed 90-60.
13. 불요불급품 - nonessential goods; not-urently necessary commodities.
14. 불우아동 - needy children. (경제적으로 [불우한]은 needy, 사회적으로 [불우한]은 underprivileged). Ex. 세 번째 맞는 모금 걷기운동인 [불우아동돕기 백 만인 걷기운동]에 7천 명 이상의 사람들이 참가했다: Over 7,000 people were joining the third annual "Miles for Millions Walk-For Neey Children," a fund-raising walk campaign.
15. 불쾌지수 - discomfort index. Ex. 어제 서울의 기온은 평년보다 약 5도 높은 최저 섭씨 24도에서 최고 30도까지의 분포를 보였는데 불쾌지수는 83으로 습도가 높았다: Yesterday, the temperature in Seoul ranged from 24º to 30º/C, about five degrees higher than normal. The humidity was high with the discomfort index at 83.
16. 불하 - disposal(=sale) of government property, transfer of stat property to private ownership. Ex. 정부는 두 정부건물을 불하할 계획이다:  The Government plans to dispose of its two buildings.
17. 비례대표제 - proportional representation system. cf. [전국구]는 candidate for proportional representative.
18. 비방 - slander; libel; defamation; calumny. abuse. (slander는 [구두비방], libel은 [문서에 의한 비방]의 경우에 많이 쓴다). Ex. 중앙선거관리위원회는 아무도 후보자를 비방할 수 없다는 말썽 많은 결정을 재고하기로 했다: The Central Election Control Committee decided to reconsider its controversial ruling that nobody can slander any condidate.
19. 비상기획위원회 - emergency planning committee. Ex. 국가안정보장회의 산하에 있는 새로 설치된 비상기획위원회 a newly established emergency planning committee under the direct jurisdiction of the existing National Security Council.
20. 비상소집 - an emergency call. Ex. 그는 비상소집을 받고 한밤중에 직장에 출근했다: Eh went to office at midnight, repsonding to an emergency call.
21. 비적성 공산국가 - unhostile Communist contries. Ex. 비적성 공산국가들과 교역을 시작하다: start trade with unhostile Communist countires.
22. 뺑소니 운전자 - a hit-and-run driver. Ex. 서울시경은 5월 5일부터 10일간을 뺑소니차 운전사의 자수기간으로 한다고 발표했다: Seoul police announced a 10-day self-surrender period for hit-and-run drivers beginnig on May 5.
