과학, 기술 - 97

과학자들은 이미 원자를 평화적인 일에 써 왔으며 원자력 발전소가 가정에 광열을 공급하는 일을 돕고 있는 나라도 있다. 원자력으로 발전되는 전력이 증가일로에 있으며 현시대에 살고 있는 많은 사람들은 물과 같이 싼 값으로 전기가 가정에 공급되는 것을 죽기 전에 보게 될 지도 모른다.

<구문 연구>

1. 첫 문장은 두 부분으로 나누어 전반부는 Scientists를 주어로 하고, 후반부는 (a) there are countries where ... ㅊ럼 관계부사를 이용하거나, (ㅠb) in some countries, atomic power plants ... 식으로 처리한다.
2. 둘째 문장도 두 부분으로 나누어, (a) [전력이 증가일로에 있다](= the output of ... ins on the steady increase / more and more of ... will be nuclear-generated) (b) [...에 살고 있는 사람들은 ...을 보게 될지도 모른다](= many people may live to see electricity supplied to ... / ~ may be able to see in their lifetime the day when ...) 처럼 처리한다.
