The Speckled Band

 

1. Henry's story.

 

  At the time of this story, I was still living at my friend Sherlock Holmes's flat in Baker Street in London. Very one early morning, a young woman, dressed in black, came to see us. She looked tired and unhappy. and her face was very white. "I'm afraid! Afraid of death, Mr Holmes!" she cried. "Please help me! I'm not thirty yet and look at my grey hair! I'm so afraid!"

 

셜록 홈즈 단편 시리즈의 서두 부분입니다. 어려운 문장은 없죠. 여자가 겁에 질린 상황을 잘 표현해주길 바랍니다.

(문법 설명 : 분사구문이란 분사의 형용사적인 성질을 이용해서 두 문장을 한 문장으로 간략화하는 것을 말합니다. 부사절을 이끄는 접속사 + 주어 + 동사 ~~, 주어 + 동사 ~~의 문장이 있을 때, 접속사와 주어를 생략한 후, 동사에 ing를 붙여 형용사를 만든 후, 주절의 주어를 꾸며주게 하는 것이죠. 분사의 형용사적 성질 잊지 마세요.)
